1 Chronicles 16:7-11 AMPC
Then on that day David first entrusted to Asaph and his brethren the singing of thanks to the Lord [as their chief task]: [8] O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known His doings among the peoples! [9] Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His wondrous works and devoutly praise them! [10] Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! [11] Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!
Thanking the Lord with all our heart is something we can all do.
We can all sing and praise Jesus, even if we can only manage "the cousin of the tune" as my nearest and dearest says!
From childhood we are encouraged to say "please" when asking for something and "thank you" when receiving it.
Jesus is so very faithful in answering our prayers and so we should ensure that we give proper thanks for His faithfulness.
That, indeed is new every single morning!
Here we read that Asaph and his brothers were given the task (their chief task) of singing thanks and praise to the Lord, not in a puffed up way, but with a grateful heart, meditating on all that God had done in their lives and nation.
Wondering what your first task is today?
What about thanking Jesus for His great love for each and every one of us!
