Psalm 19:1-4 AMPC
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. [2] Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge. [3] There is no speech nor spoken word [from the stars]; their voice is not heard. [4] Yet their voice [in evidence] goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world.
Exodus 3:2 AMPC
The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, yet was not consumed.
Many of us suffer "burn-out" at some point in our Christian lives.
The experience of God's nearness fades, prayer seems a grind and reading the Bible becomes stale.
When we try to do things under own own steam, then we are bound to grow weary and fail.
But God wants us to be like creation - displaying His power and glory quite naturally out of our new, Holy Spirit inspired self.
When God appeared to Moses out of the fire, the bush wasn't burnt up, it burned on. It was still the same old shrub, but lit up with God's flames!
If our fire is going out, it is because we are trying in our own strength. We are finite, we have limited resources.
The Lord, however, is infinite - there's no end to His Power, Provision, Protection & Passion.
If we let Him, His Fire burns on in our heart. It doesn't destroy us, but inspires us.
Look at the disciples on the day of Pentecost:
Acts 2: 1-4
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
Thought: Do I allow the Holy Spirit to burn on in me? Or, am I a DIY-er [do it yourself Christian]? Can I be like the sun, moon, stars and all nature reflecting God's glory?
