Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
During the lock-down period those who brought deliveries to our door were especially welcome.
It didn't matter what that delivery person looked like - they all had "beautiful feet".
The only thing that mattered was the goods they brought.
Yesterday I had the privilege of bringing a special mum to a precious daughter who had been separated from her during lock-down.
It took a bit of effort and clever planning to make it into a surprise, but it was well worth it.
What a pleasure to see the joy on their faces when they were reunited. In fact other family members joined in the street reconciliation "party".
As Christians we too have the immense privilege and responsibility to bring the good news of Jesus so that reconciliation can be made between God and each individual.
We are called to have "beautiful feet".
As we get older our feet tend to look a bit gruesome and gnarled with age, but, our spiritual feet can still be beautiful.
Did you know that there is a "street party" in Heaven each time someone is reunited with their Creator God?
Luke 15:10
"In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Be careful that you bring good things, encouragement, love and forgiveness to the people that you meet. Don't spread doom and gloom.
Especially bring the message of Jesus, who lovingly gave Himself to bring God and humans together again! That took planning from the foundation of the world!
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
Ephesians 1:4-5
May the Holy Spirit give us all "beautiful feet"!
Romans 10:15
And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
