2 Corinthians 5:17-21 TPT
Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. [18] And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to Himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God. [19] In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and He has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God. [20] We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ's behalf, "Turn back to God and be reconciled to him." [21] For God made the only One who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we who did not know righteousness might become the righteousness of God through our union with Him.
The miracle of salvation means we become a brand new person when we place our life in Jesus' Hands.
The old has gone! All that made my life a mess - things I said, thought and actually did that were wrong and evil, Jesus takes away. He gives a new heart and a new start.
That's what Jesus meant when He told Nicodemus:
John 3:3 NLT
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God."
Trying to perceive Jesus' words without that rebirth is like trying to read small print without glasses - everything is a blur and incomprehensible.
That's why all these so called "learned" theologians can't make sense of the gospel.
They are just like Nicodemus - coming to Jesus in the darkness!!
Thankfully I was a small child when I gave my heart to Jesus. I didn't have all the trappings of adult independence, cynicism and pride to deal with.
Yet I still knew that I was a sinner and needed forgiveness and a cleansing that only Jesus' Blood can give.
I do remember waking up the next morning and seeing with new eyes - just like the Bible says - feeling brand new.
What a hallelujah moment.
It's one that everyone is offered freely by Jesus.
Time to spread this Good News.
