Blocked!
Psalm 32:3 AMPC
When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
This morning didn't go to plan, my Tassimo coffee machine was not flowing with water - something had blocked it (probably the hot chocolate last night was the straw that broke camel's back).
It took many passes through with the cleaning pod before the water ran clear and I got my morning "wake up" coffee.
Blockages are never a good thing and it always causes some problems.
I can think of our shower drain when hair has blocked it, the dirty water can't escape; or, the bird feeders when the seed at the bottom gets soaked - the new seed is trapped and it starts to rot.
There are times when my flow of living water gets blocked by some wrongs I've done and left unchecked by regular "cleaning" before Jesus.
David says in this Psalm when he kept silent and harboured sin in his heart, his whole life was affected.
Indeed in Psalm 66:18 says "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened".
It's a very good routine to monitor our hearts before Jesus and let the Holy Spirit point out what is blocking our flow.
Like my coffee machine it may take a lot of unblocking - (admitting our sins) before Jesus and even going to people we've had an issue with.
But we have the promise of forgiveness when we're prepared to admit our mistakes:
1 John 1:9 AMPC [verses 1-9 is a really good read]
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
Let's praise Jesus anew this morning for His Precious Blood which cleanses us from all sin!
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus…
Oh, precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
