Blind
2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Watching a moth trying to find its way out of our grow house this morning - I was put in mind of the verse above. It was so blind it just couldn't see that the door was wide open and all it had to do was fly out of it. [Many times it happens with bees, butterflies etc etc].
Time and time again it was going to and fro banging itself against the plastic roof and wall where there was no way out.
We have to realise that until the Holy Spirit illumines the heart and mind, people are blind to the truth of Jesus.
We can try to explain and show that the Door to Life is open, but spiritual blindness prevents them from seeing.
As the verse says the god of this world (satan) has blinded them.
What a sad deception, to consider yourself a free thinker or open-minded, when, in actual fact, you've been duped into believing a lie!
Master Chef had a blind contestant this year - of course he couldn't see what he was cooking, preparing or presenting. He needed a sighted guide to point him in the right direction.
The Holy Spirit is our sighted guide to lead us to Jesus.
Here's the mystery of the gospel:
John 6:63
The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But some of you do not believe me.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning which ones didn’t believe, and he knew who would betray him.) Then he said, “That is why I said that people can’t come to me unless the Father gives them to me.”
Don't follow blind guides!
Matthew 15:14 AMPC
Let them alone and disregard them; they are blind guides and teachers. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a ditch.
Prayer
Father please draw people to yourself as I share the good news of Jesus.
May the blindness that satan has used to block their spiritual eyesight fall from their eyes so that they can see you.
