Benefits

Psalm 103:2 AMPC

Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits-

There are many people forced to live on benefits in this cost of living crisis.

They simply do not earn enough to pay all the bills and buy food in order to survive.

The benefits that the government hand out have to be claimed and personal circumstances declared in order to obtain them.

Basically a person has to have run out of money!

Martin Lewis, a journalist and financial advisor, often writes or YouTube's about how to claim benefits, clearly explaining the criteria for doing so.

He will say "don't forget to claim"!

How often, as followers of Christ do we forget to claim our spiritual benefits?

We live with guilt and shame, fear and doubt, dragging the past behind us like a ball and chain.

Yet, we should be living on the spiritual benefits which the Lord freely provides.

There is no need to live as spiritual paupers.

He offers all that we need as we live in loving union with Him.

I want to walk through this blessed Psalm and remind myself to claim all God's great benefits day by day.

This should inspire heart praise and thanks on a perpetual basis to our wonderful Lord.

Psalm 103:1 NKJV

Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His Holy Name.

Today, dear Father God, may I not try to survive in my own strength, but live on Your precious benefits and multiple resources that You so bountifully supply.

John 10:10 AMPC

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
