Believed

Exodus 4:28-31 AMPC

Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which He had sent him, and all the signs with which He had charged him. [29] Moses and Aaron went and gathered together [in Egypt] all the elders of the Israelites. [30] Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. [31] And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the Israelites, and that He had looked [in compassion] upon their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped.

We live in such a cynical age - a period of mixed messages when we hardly know who or what to believe. Indeed, any absolutes are frowned upon. Rather, the idea of your truth or my truths are adopted in the name of multiculturalism.

I was reading up on the history of Christianity in Kent where Augustine was sent by Pope Gregory as a missionary. He met king Æthelberht and he believed as Augustine shared the simple gospel message converting to Christianity.

Other beliefs were cast aside and Kent became Christian.

Moses and Aaron gathered together the leaders of the Israelites in Egypt and they shared how the Lord had seen their suffering in slavery and was going to free them from Pharaoh's tyranny.

They believed when they saw the signs and heard the words.

John Wesley rode the length and breadth of Britain in the 1700's sharing the Good News of Jesus in town squares - anywhere people gathered - they heard and believed.

Today we need another Great Awakening in this land which is fast sinking in the mire of secularism and the darkness of false religions.

Pray that the Holy Spirit would give people "ears to hear" as we share the simple gospel of Jesus.

Romans 10:13-14 NLT

For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." [14] But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?
