Psalm 121:1-8 AMPC
I will lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]-From whence shall my help come? [2] My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. [3] He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber. [4] Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. [5] The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield]. [6] The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. [7] The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. [8] The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
What a wonderful assurance that the Lord bestows in the heart of His children.
Amazingly, we, who believe, have a sense of "being kept" by Him throughout life's turmoils (of which there are many).
If course, no one is exempt from tragedy, but the ultimate security is promised by Jesus:
John 10:28 AMPC
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.
As I lay down to sleep (yes, it's the word from the night-time pillow), I can release my worries and concerns and relax in the Promise of eternal salvation.
The Psalm 121 also assures that the Lord is keeping Israel, when the world threatens annihilation on her borders.
He's not going to sleep tonight. He sees and takes note. Just wait, you'll see how proactive the Lord really is.
I urge all who have ears to hear, come join the family of believers in Jesus, the True Messiah.
Selah
