When my nearest and dearest arrived home, after being away for almost 4 months, I put up a banner welcoming him and we celebrated with a special meal (not quite a banquet - our kitchen doesn't allow for that!).... but you get the idea, don't you.
There was a good deal of rejoicing at our reunion.
How much more celebration is involved when the God of all creation finally gets our attention and brings us "home" to Him where we belong!
The aura of giving our hearts to Jesus is one of joyful celebration and reunion - yet its reputation among outsiders is, that following Jesus, brings a life of misery!
It couldn't be more wrong.
To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume.
2 Corinthians 2:16
Being constantly in the company of King Jesus by the unction of the Holy Spirit douses everything with deep joy, welling up inside (even when circumstances belie it).
As Jesus said: "I came that they may have life to the full, vibrant and overflowing!"

If you could look up over your head right now you would see the Father's impenetrable spiritual banner boldly declaring His love for you FOREVER AND EVER.
Even if you are in the midst of trouble or trials, there's a promise to encourage you:

You are always in the Heavenly banqueting house according to scripture and you don't have to self cater - it's been prepared by the Lord for you!
