Psalm 68:32-35 AMPC
Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth, sing praises to the Lord! Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! [33] [Sing praises] to Him Who rides upon the heavens, the ancient heavens; behold, He sends forth His voice, His mighty voice. [34] Ascribe power and strength to God; His majesty is over Israel, and His strength and might are in the skies. [35] O God, awe-inspiring, profoundly impressive, and terrible are You out of Your holy places; the God of Israel Himself gives strength and fullness of might to His people. Blessed be God!
We've just gone through another awesome storm.
I walked along The Leas during Storm Henk - it was startling in its force - nearly knocking me off my feet.
What went through my mind was the fierceness of the Lord's Power in nature.
When such a tumultuous energy is unleashed it is truly frightening.
No one can stand against it.
Planes struggle to land, huge trucks flip over, rivers burst their banks and mammoth trees are uprooted.
Truly it puts frail humanity in its place.
The Bible tells of a time when God's wrath will be unleashed against the arrogance of mankind.
He will not be mocked - we either surrender voluntarily to Him or face the awesome consequences.
There are no alternatives.
Hebrews 12:26-27 AMPC
Then [at Mount Sinai] His voice shook the earth, but now He has given a promise: Yet once more I will shake and make tremble not only the earth but also the [starry] heavens. [27] Now this expression, Yet once more, indicates the final removal and transformation of all [that can be] shaken-that is, of that which has been created-in order that what cannot be shaken may remain and continue.
