Awake

Psalm 108:2 AMPC

Awake, harp and lyre; I myself will wake very early-I will waken the dawn!

My heart echoes the words of the Psalm - it's so good to wake up early and start the day with praise.

I didn't manage it today and feel a bit robbed of that precious quiet time before the demands of the day take hold.

Considering the majesty and sovereignty of our Lord God puts everything into perspective.

I expect you, like me, tend to get things out of proportion and need a reboot - to come back to the cross of Jesus where love and mercy "flow mingled down".

Read through this beautiful Psalm as a prayer and let your heart mull over it:

Psalm 108:4 AMPC

For Your mercy and loving-kindness are great and high as the heavens! Your truth and faithfulness reach to the skies!

I often hold onto this verse when I have to fly! It's a great comfort to know that the Lord is not restricted in His love and faithfulness! It's especially wonderful to know when flying through a lot of turbulence!

It's not just physcial turbulence, spiritual turbulence abounds in the airwaves today. There's much confusion and mixed messages emanating from media of all sorts. Through it all, God's Truth shines through - indeed - the Lord we serve - declared Himself to be THE Truth.

Staying close to Jesus will drive away uncertainty and confusion - I'm speaking to my own heart right now!

Prayer:

Praise You, Lord Jesus, that You are always faithful, full of mercy and lovingkindness.

Help me stay awake and alert in this day - confident in the knowledge that You hold the world in the palm of Your nail-scarred Hands.
