Answered prayer

A day to thank the Lord for answered prayer!

A dear friend's husband just underwent a heart operation which was touch and go for his life.

Much prayer was sent up for him and all the family. It was such a stressful time and the relief came flooding into us when we heard he was out of theatre and, today, amazingly, he was allowed home.

It was a day to say thank you to the Lord for answered prayer.

Like Psalm 116 says

I love the Lord because He answers prayer, MY prayer - not some mumbled words from antiquity which are recited parrot fashion, while the mind is busy with something else!

No, He has heard our heart felt cries from the depths of our beings.

There's no one else we can call on when we are seemingly at the mercy of circumstances.

Psalm 130:1-8 AMPC

Out of the depths have I cried to You, O Lord. [2] Lord, hear my voice; let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. [3] If You, Lord, should keep account of and treat [us according to our] sins, O Lord, who could stand? [4] But there is forgiveness with You [just what man needs], that You may be reverently feared and worshiped. [5] I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope. [6] I am looking and waiting for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, I say, more than watchmen for the morning. [7] O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is mercy and loving-kindness, and with Him is plenteous redemption. [8] And He will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.

Wherever you are, whatever your plight, let your cry to Jesus come out of the depths into the ears of the Living God.

He will hear and answer.

Today we give hearty thanks for the answered prayer for that precious family. May they return to you Jesus with gratefulness and praise.
