Deuteronomy 8:17-18 AMPC
And beware lest you say in your [mind and] heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. [18] But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
I spent a long time in one job (over 22 years) and then had the opportunity to branch out in a partnership, which was broken at the last moment.
It was devastating and a great shock to me!
So my first response was to ask for my old job back, which my boss gladly gave me.
I remember so keenly how I was working at my desk in the office, when it was as if a knife was twisting in my stomach.
I went to my boss and told him, "I can't stay here. I have to leave!"
He looked shocked and amazed, because I had no alternative work to go to.
God spoke so strongly through the passage above:
"Remember the Lord your God for it is HE who gives you the power to get wealth.
You see I had trusted in my old job to provide in my lack.
The Lord challenged me to trust HIM to provide.
It took a few weeks and some deep valleys of despair, but God faithfully led me to a new start, a new business against all the odds.
Now, nearly 24 years later, I look back and praise the amazing goodness of God.
He has guided and provided every step of the way.
I share this because many are facing financial difficulties, wondering how bills will be paid etc etc.
God's storehouse is not dependant on Ukrainian wheat or Russian gas or any other country's provision.
He has His own riches to draw upon:
And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
There is a Heavenly Storehouse which is always full.
There are no empty shelves in Jesus' Provision. for us.
It may not be the way we think, but God will faithfully take care of us, as we leave the way of provision up to Him.
He has the power, He has the riches. Look to Him.
