The incredible shrinking "me"!

John 3:30 NKJV

He must increase, but I must decrease.

So said John the Baptist when his supporters noticed that Jesus was taking all the limelight from him.

He was more than satisfied that Jesus was taking centre stage in bringing the message of the Kingdom of God.

Truly there's a lesson here for each one of us in our walk with Jesus.

How much am I shrinking, decreasing in my selfishness, stubbornness and ego?

When I get out of bed to start the day is it about "me me me" or "He He He"?

Am I letting the "Jesus in me" evict all the nasty bits of my nature to replace it with His?

It's a change of heart, mind and direction - letting Jesus take the wheel - with the GPS of the Holy Spirit.

Don't be discouraged, because it's a gradual process, with selfish detours along the way.

It was always God's plan to make us like Him (let Us make man in Our Image - Genesis 1:26) but we turned our backs and declared our independence.

Jesus came to put us right and transform us into His image:

2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Again the question "Am I shrinking?"

Is Jesus increasing in my life?

It's a must!
