Luke 8:16-18
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”
Sometimes it can be so frustrating when deception occurs and the truth is swept under the carpet.
When the truth gets twisted and heroes are painted as villains and vice versa, it is very hard to bear.
Jesus is adamant that whatever is hidden will be revealed and brought out into the open.
Rest assured that, although it may take time, the truth is buoyant and will come to the surface.
In God's good time justice will prevail.
The Bible is full of verses which emphasise that no matter how wicked and clever a scheme, God sees and will catch the schemer in their own trap:
Esther 9:25
But when it came to the king’s attention, he commanded by letter that his wicked scheme which he had devised against the Jews, should return on his own head and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.
Psalm 10:2
In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted;
Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.
Psalm 33:10
The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
Proverbs 12:2
A good man will obtain favour from the Lord,
But He will condemn a man who devises evil.
Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
