Colossians 2:17
17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
The evolution of entertainment has been taking place, at first slowly, and now is gaining ground at a new level.
The lines between reality and fantasy are being blurred.
We are being invited to increasingly "live" in this imaginary world via movies, computer games where we fight imaginary wars and win fictitious games. But now, via the frightening concept of the "metaverse" (Meta being the renamed Facebook) we are being enticed into merging the imaginary with our real lives.
It is a satanic seduction to ease us away from reality into a virtual world, seemingly of our own creation.
The real world into which we are born is therefore virtually mixed with fiction, lulling us into a false sense of security!
If we can be convinced that there is no actual reality, then there's no sin, and there's no need for a saviour.
It is a massive deception, but, like a spider's web, we won't see it until we're trapped in it!
The Bible, however, deals in the facts of the matter. It wakes us up to the Truth, which dwells bodily in Jesus.
The truth is often uncomfortable, but it is real. It should be faced in the here and now, because one day, we will have to meet The Truth head on!
We all have a bit of ostrich in us, sticking our heads in the sand, shutting out the harsh facts of life. Let's not put off standing up and being counted.
1 John 1:8
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that His word has no place in our hearts.
Run from the virtual and choose reality. As we read at the start: the reality is Christ.
Live in Him and you won't be deceived.
