Matthew 19:3-6 AMPC
And Pharisees came to Him and put Him to the test by asking, Is it lawful and right to dismiss and repudiate and divorce one's wife for any and every cause? [4] He replied, Have you never read that He Who made them from the beginning made them male and female, [5] And said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united firmly (joined inseparably) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? [6] So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder (separate).
The Church of England Synod recently met to discuss the issue of blessing same sex "marriages".
But could there be anything clearer than Jesus' teaching on marriage and indeed on gender than in the above passage?
What is there to discuss?
God designed gender from the beginning - male and female - full stop - no blurry lines or grey areas.
Moreover, for this very reason marriage was ordained: leaving father (male) and mother (female) and cleaving (staying together permanently) as husband (male) and wife (female).
This country has drifted so far away from its Christian heritage, that even the state church is confused about such fundamentals of God's creation.
An ex vicar MP (now in a same sex relationship) recently said that Jesus said nothing about sexuality! What ignorance of the Bible!
In order to condone what our law has legalised parts of the Bible will have to be ripped out and burned or edited.
The repercussions of this will be to our detriment.
If the synod is willing to countenance such a radical change then it will be no longer worthy of its Christian name.
Jesus said:
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Matthew 24:35
Let's be clear: Jesus loves each one of us so much that He gave His life so we could be forgiven and conformed to His Word.
It is not hate speech to relay the Christian guidelines for life.
1 Timothy 4:1 AMPC
But the [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach
Let's be inextricably, intrinsically bound to Jesus' teachings and so avoid the deception and deluded ideas being traded by the world.
Although this is controversial it needs to be said.
God made us in His image, but now humans are attempting to remake Him in our image
God has immovable boundaries for His Creation that never change.
