Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you from east and west, from north and south. I will bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the farthest corners of the earth. All who claim me as their God will come, for I have made them for my glory; I created them. Bring them back to me—blind as they are and deaf when I call (although they see and hear!).
Gather the nations together! Which of all their idols ever has foretold such things? Which can predict a single day ahead? Where are the witnesses of anything they said? If there are no witnesses, then they must confess that only God can prophesy.
But I have witnesses, O Israel, says the Lord! You are my witnesses and my servants, chosen to know and to believe me and to understand that I alone am God. There is no other God; there never was and never will be. I am the Lord, and there is no other Saviour. Whenever you have thrown away your idols, I have shown you my power. With one word I have saved you. You have seen me do it; you are my witnesses that it is true. From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can oppose what I do.
Isaiah 43:5-13
It's no exaggeration to say that God has "seen it all".... there never has been a time when He wasn't around and there never will be a time when He won't exist.
He sits firmly in control of the Cosmos and our little world too.
He knows what will happen in our future - He's way ahead of Extinction Rebellion! He has already told us that this world will be destroyed by fire:
2 Peter 3:9-10
The Lord is not slow about keeping His promise as some people think. He is waiting for you. The Lord does not want any person to be punished forever. He wants all people to be sorry for their sins and turn from them. The day of the Lord will come as a robber comes. The heavens will pass away with a loud noise. The sun and moon and stars will burn up. The earth and all that is in it will be burned up.
This isn't some science fiction or horror movie, this is something that is going to happen in reality.
It doesn't matter how many people glue themselves to the M25, the end of the world is on the way. God has written down a time to call, humanity and the wicked forces which are active in the universe, to account - by fire.
Yes, it's taking a long, long time, but that's because Jesus wants to give as many as possible a chance to be included in His Kingdom and be saved by His Sacrificial love on the Cross.
As it says in Isaiah, we, along with Israel, are called to be witnesses. If you are a believer, you are called to be active in telling the wonderful news that all is not lost. Being in Jesus is the most wonderful way of life and way to life eternal.
