You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

The president of Ukraine has been calling for volunteers to fight with his country's army. They are outnumbered by the advancing enemy's forces and need help.
The battle, we're told, is going to be pivotal over the next 24 hours and they need all the support they can get.
It has been heart breaking to see little children being separated from their parents as their fathers go into the heat of the conflict.
The sight of that should stir even the hardest heart to pray for peace.
We, as followers of Jesus, are conscripted into His army, called to sign up for the battle.
We have different weapons, but we are all soldiers under the command of our Lord.
He calls us to fight against injustice, stand up for the oppressed, speak up for what's right and, above all, pray for salvation, protection and guidance.
Right now, let's keep our minds clear of trivialities and listen for the Word of our Commanding Officer - the Lord of Heaven's Armies.
The world is on a knife edge of cataclysmic all out war. As soldiers of Jesus, keep the weapon of prayer primed with our gospel armour on.
God is still on the throne of history. Putin or NATO are not calling the shots. The Lord is sovereign and He will prevail.
