Rest for your soul

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

One of the wonderful blessings of being around Jesus is His gentleness. He knows the constant pressure that the world puts on us.

During lockdown our physical body may not be as tired, but our soul is under much strain.

Where can we find rest, refreshment and renewal when all seems so stale and restricted?

Jesus is the Bread of Life, the Living Water, even the Resurrection and the Life. Everything we need to bring our wilting self back to vibrant life is in Him.

So much so that Paul could write "Rejoice in the Lord always", even while he was in chains in a cruel Roman prison.

Well, we're not in chains, but we do feel a bit like prisoners to the COVID-19 regulations.

Bring your tired soul to Jesus this very moment and let His Life-giving Presence wash over you and renew your joy.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation and renew a right spirit in me
