That was the cry I heard on waking...
Psalm 22:1
My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Why are you so far away when I groan for help?
2 Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.
Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief.
These verses could rightly be said by those fleeing their bombed out homes in the crossfire of fierce shelling!
These are the prophetic words spoken by Jesus on the cross.
Abandonment, forsakeness - emotions all too familiar in wartorn lands - in Ukraine right now!
Loosing homes, possessions, jobs, moving to who knows where, maybe never seeing loved ones again... all conspire to decimate faith.
It demonstrates just how swiftly material things of this life can be removed.
For us, who sit in relative peace, the onus is to do something, give something and not stand aloof.
It can be massively daunting - the task too big, too impossible - easier to bury our heads in the sand!
We must continue to pray and not get worn out: "be not weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not"! Galatians 6:9
As tired as your heart is, keep on keeping on for the sake of those who can't pray!
