Proverbs 3:5 NLT
Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
This verse is well trodden, I know, but it woke me this early morning - with the emphasis on ALL.
The dictionary defines "all" as the whole quantity or completely - nothing left out or withheld.
That's the kind of trust the Lord is looking for.
My nature loves to delve into the details of issues to try to figure things out for myself - this is a "leaning on my own understanding" to some extent, I admit.
There are "nooks and crannies" in my life where I still declare a state of independence from trust in God.
These must be cleaned out, vacuumed and given over to complete trust in our Heavenly Father and His Holy Word.
Without that utter dependence I'll be sucked into the vortex of deception that is ever increasing during these evil days.
Proverbs 3:6 NLT
Seek His Will in ALL you do, and He will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:21-23 NLT
My child, don't lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, [22] for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. [23] They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble.
Common sense and discernment are not so common as we desert Almighty God and go our own way.
The news is full of craziness in our government, judiciary and society.
Can you believe the NHS now has to ask a man if he's pregnant before treating him! Ludicrous!
Turning back to the Lord and His Word is the path to healing and wisdom....
And it ALL starts with me!
Each of us, individually, need that complete trust - not superficial - but wholeheartedly "ALL" in.
